Posture and Body Mechanics

Good posture is essential in reducing stress on joints, ligaments and muscles.  Maintaining proper alignment is most energy efficient for the body, reducing the need for unnecessary muscle recruitment.  With good posture, breathing patterns can be optimized, providing proper oxygenation of the body, mobility of the internal organs, and balancing of the autonomic nervous system, producing calm.  Good body mechanics integrate proper alignment with grace of movement, requiring a finely tuned neuromuscular system.  Moving in this way is efficient and reduces stress and strain patterns in the musculoskeletal system.
