Safe Return to Athletics

The essential core muscles of the abdomen, low back, and pelvic floor are compromised after pregnancy and delivery.  The ligaments of the pelvis have also been stretched, and can remain less stable during the postpartum period, and during breast feeding.  For these reasons, it is essential to gain full recovery of this region before returning to higher level sports and activities.  Doing so will prevent the chance of injuries occurring during your recovery.

Physical therapy treatment by a therapist specializing in pregnancy and postpartum health can evaluate your current condition, and teach you proper exercises, posture, and body mechanics, to help you safely return to the sport of your choice.
