Prenatal Coccyx Pain

Coccyx or tailbone can occur during pregnancy as the baby grows and places pressure on the muscles and ligaments that attach to the tailbone.  Some woman who have a history of a tailbone injury or fracture may experience even more pain.

By addressing any coccyx joint stiffness or pelvic floor muscle tightness pulling on the joint, not only can we alleviate your pain during pregnancy, but also create easier conditions for the baby to pass through the canal during labor and delivery.  A sitting cushion may be recommended to take the pressure off of the tailbone during sitting.
